Recent Dataristix® Updates

Dataristix is continuously improving and has undergone several bug fixes, usability, and feature improvements in recent months. If you have not updated your Dataristix installation for a while, then it may be worthwhile doing so soon. This article summarizes some of the new features that are available in the latest version of Dataristix.

New Dataristix connector features include:

  • Connectors for ODBC, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and SQLite
A performance bottle neck for slow connections or queries has been removed, resulting in increased throughput and responsiveness when interacting with the respective database connector.
  • Connector for OPC UA
Latest versions reduce the number of “Publish” requests sent to the OPC server to avoid “BadTooManyPublishRequests” error messages when many topics are configured. Recent versions issue one request only for each group of topics with the same update rate.

New Dataristix core features include:

  • Kubernetes support (see https://www.rensen.io/dataristix-cluster/)
  • OpenTelemetry support (see https://docs.rensen.io/dataristix/core/telemetry.html)
  • Task and Connector topic navigation: Manage hundreds of tasks more easily by utilizing the “Go to Task” and “Add to Task” context menu for connector topics, or the “Go to Topic” context menu for task nodes.
  • Export tasks and building blocks: Use the name of the task or building block instead of a generic name.
  • Re-introduced the “Arrange” toolbar button for automated task layout.
  • Added User Preferences for live value display and tag name sorting in connector topics and task nodes (accessible via the top-left main menu)
  • New Processors: “Array Builder”, “Select”, and “Sequencer”  (see https://docs.rensen.io/dataristix/introduction.html#processors)
  • Support for single-node building blocks
  • Allow copying logged messages shown in the message panel via context menu.
